Julie Marabelle is a French designer, paper cut artist and founder of Famille Summerbelle.
She was shortlisted under the Design category at the AOI World Illustration Awards 2008 for her paper cut map of Copenhagen.
After a creative childhood at a Steiner school, Julie studied Plasticien de l’Environnement in Paris at the Ecole Nationale Supérieur d’Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d’Arts, Olivier de Serres.
She later moved to London and graduated with a First Class degree in Set Design from Central Saint Martins.
Julie recently exhibited her work in Tokyo on a solo show to celebrate the 11th anniversary of her business Famille Summerbelle.
Julie has been commissioned to create exclusive paper cut maps and artworks for private and commercial clients such as Issey Miyake, the V&A, Mothercare, Sainsburys, PanaHome, Engel and 72 & Sunny Amsterdam. She illustrated a children’s book for the Dutch publisher Snor. More recently she was commissioned by the kids concept store Bonton to make an exclusive paper cut installation and a large window drawing for their shop in Tokyo.
