iAMi is an illustrator and graphic designer based in the North East of England who produces bold, vibrant and sometimes provocative imagery. iAMi experiments with colourful characters to play with themes of identity, love, sexuality and gender using the juxtaposition of simple illustration to communicate complex issues.
iAMi’s work is inspired by power, advertising, rebellion, fashion and popular culture. The content and style reflect the visual snapshots iAMi collects from the world around them, such as the street art and youth fashion from travels in Harajuku Tokyo, the colourful and curious folk of the LGBTQI+ community and drag scene, vintage manga and the sensory visual overload of graphics adorned upon Japanese packaging design.
iAMi is a creative with ADHD, it gifts a unique creative perspective on the world, which is communicated through the illustrations.
In addition to illustration and graphic design, iAMi has co-ordinated and facilitated creative workshops focusing on co-creation with communities and neurodivergent groups.
