Amanda Quellin trained in Fine Art at the University of Sheffield achieving a BA honours degree. She then went on run her successful scenic art and design company, ‘Artifex’, for twenty years producing large scale art and exhibition work for clients worldwide including: The Museum of Science and Industry, television, Film 4, theatre and opera companies. She continues to produce large scale public artwork for clients such as ‘Wild in Art’ recently working on sculptures for Nottingham and Newcastle installations.
After writing a number of children’s stories she decided to embark on the Masters in Children’s Book Illustration course at the University of Central Lancashire, being awarded a distinction.
Her first book ‘The Toy Horse’ is awaiting publication and she is currently working on two more books based on cognitive behavioural therapy for children.
Amanda prefers a traditional painterly approach to illustration as opposed to digital, combining collage, inks and printmaking.
