Hannah Asen creates vibrant, detailed pen and ink illustrations fuelled with humour and imagination. She has illustrated for the likes of Otter-Barry Books, Anna Freud Centre, Floreat Education, Blind Children UK and Stew magazine.
Born and brought up in London, Hannah was raised, amongst others, on the wonderful Roald Dahl, John Burningham, Judith Kerr and Quentin Blake – not to mention the stories of her eccentric Austrian grandmother. Hannah’s love of words and pictures led her to study art and languages at Edinburgh University before relocating to the creative capital of Berlin in 2010. Upping sticks to Kreuzberg was the inspirational tonic that led her to pursue her lifelong passion for illustration as a career. In 2017 Hannah returned to the UK and her Edinburgh studio is now filled with inks, paints and characters all coming to life.
