Cátia Vidinhas was born in 1989, in a place where the mountains are so high that one can easily reach heaven. And, probably for this reason, she has always wanted a piece of it for herself.
After several years designing in the clouds and coloring books offered by his grandmother, Cátia decides to graduate in graphic design at the Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave, and then chooses to postgraduate in Image Design at Fine Arts School of Oporto University and Master in Multimedia at Enginary School of Oporto University, where she continues to live and work as a designer and illustrator. After finishing her degree, she has worked in some design, advertising agencies and publishers. She also works in animation cinema and recently teaching Design, Illustration and Animation. She has also participated in some collective and solo exhibitions. So far, she is the illustrations’ author of eight children’s books like: “Nadav” (2012), “Figura de Urso” (2015) and “Infâncias” (2017). Her books are publish in countries like Spain, Brazil or Colombia.
In 2015 was highlighted by the Portuguese National Prize for illustration as her book “WonderPorto” and in 2017 her illustration for the book “Infâncias” was distinguished by the Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition.
