An artist, illustrator, and book sculptor, Boo Paterson is most commonly known for her strong conceptual and political artwork.
Boo likes to subvert norms, both through her ideas and materials. Perhaps because of this, her fine art has been exhibited at the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy, and has been admired by the Pulitzer-winning art critic, Jerry Saltz.
Her hard-hitting editorial pieces have been shortlisted in the World Illustration Awards twice and she has a self-illustrated book out worldwide with Pavilion, called Papercut This Book. Another self-illustrated title – First Art Kit – is to be released by Simon & Schuster in May 2021.
Extensive press coverage on Boo has appeared across the world, including on The BBC, The Guardian, The Week and The Sunday Times and she is an instructor in book sculpture at New York’s Center for Book Arts.
