January 31 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Welcome to the 2nd AOI Meet Up for Bristol!
For this second evening, the theme is “HEALTH” – A really important, but tricky and sensitive subject – we will focus on the daily challenges that face illustrators when it comes to their mental and physical health while examining possible solutions. We’ll also look at how illustration itself can tackle tough subjects.
Part of the evening will include an open discussion with our three invited guests: Chris Sav – a London based illustrator, musician and comedian who has created the character Disappointman for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). Lize Meddings – founder of Sad Ghost Club, a long-term project spreading positive awareness of mental health. Greet Pauwelijn – founder of picture book publisher Book Island, who’ve published a number of books dealing with subjects ranging from grief, illness, death and fear.
Doors, 7pm. Discussion, 8pm.
PIP hosted by Dave Bain & David McMillan.

Please note space is strictly limited so no entry will be permitted without a ticket. We strongly recommend you purchase in advance.
Open to all illustrators (not just AOI members) – let’s get-together and share best experiences, meet others and share knowledge. That’s why we’ve titled the Bristol meet up ‘PIP’ – meaning “Put Into Practice”.
PIP – An AOI Meet Up – is about adding value to you the illustrator and the illustration community as a whole. Plus, a chance to learn something new and have fun while doing it! A quarterly event, each event aims to be uplifting and positive – not a place for moaning – but one for solving problems and encouraging each other.
