16th May 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Welcome to the 3rd AOI Meet Up for Bristol.
Open to all illustrators (not just members of The Association of Illustrators) – let’s get-together and share best experiences, meet others and share knowledge. That’s why we’ve titled the Bristol meet up ‘PIP’ – meaning “Put Into Practice”.
For this third evening, the theme is “LONGEVITY”
We’ll have an open discussion with our three invited guests who have all worked in the creative industries for at least 20 years. We’ll focus on how to stay the course, particularly with changes in industry, clients, style trends and technology. We’ll discuss personal growth and the shifting goals at different stages in your career, as well as issues surrounding physical and mental health, and creative consistency.
> Adrian Barclay – an illustrator who has journeyed from working in traditional mediums to digital across the full range of sectors from advertising through to healthcare.
> Carys-ink – a creative experienced in creating brand identity through illustration and design during a changing landscape of clients, while also raising a family.
> Paul Farrell* – a graphic artist, illustrator and printmaker who before going solo worked as graphic designer for 20 years.
*Paul has also created an artwork (pictured) which we’ve had riso printed by Bristol-based Assembly Press. Get in touch with them for your riso needs.

Pip Illustration is about adding value to you the illustrator and the illustration community as a whole. Plus, a chance to learn something new and have fun while doing it! A quarterly event, each event aims to be uplifting and positive – not a place for moaning – but one for solving problems and encouraging each other.
