Marion Deuchars in conversation with Professor David Crow.
Celebrated illustrator Marion Deuchars is best known for her eloquent hand lettering, the Bob series, and art books. Marion joins Professor David Crow for an insightful and inspiring conversation event. Looking at key works from Marion’s career the conversation will look at how her work has evolved- and what informs her practise.
The talk will consider the illustration heritage from where her work comes, and how it is influencing illustrators working today.
Marion Deuchars is a Scottish born, internationally acclaimed, award-winning illustrator.
Marion works with major design and advertising agencies, publishes illustrated children’s books and has created a much-loved style of hand-lettering. Whether it’s client work for the likes of The Royal Mail and The Imperial War Museum, or inspiring youngsters with her Let’s Make Great Art books, Marion’s impact on the creative scene continues to be wide-ranging.
David is Pro Vice-Chancellor and Head of Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon colleges. He was previously Dean of Manchester School of Art, at Manchester Metropolitan University. David is the author of key texts used in both the UK and USA and also writes for journals..
