In Conversation: Anna Mill, Luke Jones and Dan Franklin

October 10 @ 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm

Award-winning illustrator Anna Mill will be in conversation with author and collaborator Luke Jones, and publisher Dan Franklin from Jonathan Cape, discussing their work together on Square Eyes, an epic dystopian graphic novel that took home the WIA 2019 Overall Winner Award.

Anna Mill studied architecture at The Bartlett UCL, where she became increasingly interested in the power of illustration in architecture, and architecture in illustration. She is interested in work that spans between old and new artistic practices, from traditional hand-constructed perspectives through to illustration in virtual reality. Together with Luke Jones, she published the graphic novel Square Eyes, which used the setting of a near future city to explore our current preoccupations with technology.

Luke Jones is an architect, lecturer, and co-host of the podcast About Buildings + Cities, exploring architectural history, theory, process and ideas from the distant past to the present day.

A new short comic by Mill + Jones, Exile’s Letter will be published at the end of September as part of the Oslo Architecture Triennale.

There will be a chance to ask questions after the talk.
