How did you make this work:
This painting represents the struggle to ask for help when it feels safer to hide away. So many people who would really benefit from therapy give in to fear and cultural stigma. Unfortunately, what feels like protecting ourselves can often be the very thing that’s harming us and blocking the helping hands that would bring healing. This image was created in Procreate using an Apple iPad Pro.

Biography:
Jennifer Bruce is a Michigan-based illustrator who mixes traditional techniques with digital media, combining figures with graphics, texture, and pattern. She graduated from the College for Creative Studies in downtown Detroit with a Bachelor’s in Illustration (and a minor in Concept Art), with honors and currently resides near Detroit with her husband Steven and their cats.
