How did you make this work:
In Singapore, land is scarce and seen solely as an economic resource. Maps are often used to measure the extent of land, reducing it to a shape on paper. By depicting the rich narratives, history and inhabitants of the land, this illustration challenges the neoliberal cartographic representation of Kampong Buangkok: the last rural village that has resisted the modern development of Singapore.

Biography:
Eugene Tan (b.1995) is an artist that explores themes at the intersection of art and architecture. Tan's work often deals with the modernization of Singapore; to form meaningful conversations about conservation and culture in a city predominated by ideals of efficiency and pragmatism.
