Jingxin Fang
Shanghai Lockdown

Memories of the COVID era

How were your illustrations used? :
Experimentation

How did you make this work:
Between March and June of 2022, Shanghai residents experienced a prolonged lockdown where people were not even allowed to go out of their communities. The only activity they could go outside was to get a COVID test, so people dressed up in costumes just for queuing up to get a COVID test. I tried to use a positive perspective to depict this historic moment.
