annabella orosz
CLOUD PILLOW- poem anthology about death and existence

Children's Publishing

Commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
This project was commissioned by IGYIC/PKŰ (Youth and Children's Literary Center- Budapest). The purpose was to create a book for children to help understand and process the loss of loved ones. Since the pandemic marked so many lives, we wanted to focus on children and orphans. The collected works of well known Hungarian poets were edited by Ayhan Gökhan. Limited edition.

How was the illustration used:
Kindergarten reading events

How did you make this work:
I used blue writing ink as a base, loved the idea of blue and the plasticity of the ink. Overall the illustrations were finalised digitally. Many landscapes and small human figures were used to create an impression of the main idea of the poems. I used nature as a contemplation space, and humans, silhouettes of humans to abstract existence or nonexistence.
