I created the work to illustrate the difficulties of finding the right balance in medical treatment. Especially with regard to increasing usage of pharmaceuticals and the associated risk of overmedication. The illustration shows the patient's perspective to make this topic more accessible.
How was the illustration used: It's a stock image for editorial usage, e.g. in medical journals or public magazines.
How did you make this work: From the sketch on, I created this work on my Cintiq with Photoshop and three of the brushes I commonly use.

Hendrik is a freelance illustrator based in Flensburg, Germany. With his illustrations he converts complex issues into accessible imagery. Before studying illustration at HAW Hamburg he worked several years in graphic design. Clients: Chartech Magazine, Which?
