Shira Seri Levi
NYC Diaries

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
I moved to New York in 2020, and my high expectations were quickly met with the pandemic reality. In 2021, the city slowly returned to life and the efforts I'd made to fit into a new culture and language settled in. I started to realize how much I'd changed, so I started writing a diary with small stories about the people and places I'd encountered in New York.

How was the illustration used:
The project started as personal work on my Instagram account, and later developed into posters and mini-zines which I sold online.

How did you make this work:
The illustrations were first drawn with ink on paper and edited digitally. The posters were printed using the RISO printer.
