Why did you make this work:
Janice was commissioned by Penguin Books to illustrate an article written by one of their authors, An Yu (author of 'Braised Pork) on how her family's previous ambivalence to Lunar New Year helped prepare them for being separated for the festivities and celebrations in 2021, as the Year of the Rat became the Year of the Ox.

Janice's work takes on an honest representation of people and situations, whilst using her trademark exaggerated forms, bendy limbs and humour to engage in conversations around social and interpersonal issues.

Biography:
Janice Chang is a Los Angeles born and raised illustrator based in Brooklyn, NY. She works primarily as a 2D illustrator and animator, but also has a passion for creating wall murals as well as 3D sculptures in her bold and vibrant style. Clients include: Apple, Nike, Penguin, The New York Times, TED, The Atlantic, Pentagram, Vice, Snapchat, Bumble, WhatsApp, The Washington Post and Dropbox.
