Why did you make this work:
After being deeply moved by series 1 of this podcast, I approached the producers with an illustration pitch to create art to accompany each episode of season 2, to assist them in their efforts to present the stories, moral arguments and complex issues surrounding the introduction (and resistance to) voluntary assisted dying laws in Australia. They agreed, and commissioned the work.

How was the illustration used:
Artwork accompanying each episode of a 14-episode series, to appear on the landing page of each episode and on social media.

How did you make this work:
Given the very human nature of this topic, I chose watercolour as my medium, relying on a limited palette, a strong visual narrative that spoke to the information covered in each episode, and allowing the texture of the paint and paper add a deeply human, tangible quality to the artwork.
