Emmi Jormalainen
Book of Friends

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
The pandemic made me feel extremely lonely and longing for my friends in far away countries. Since we couldn’t meet, I created this warm and kind story where we get to travel again and meet new people along the way.

How was the illustration used:
Illustrations for a silent book

How did you make this work:
The book has 56 pages and six chapters. On every chapter a new animal friend joins the group of travellers. The story goes from European cities to the forest, from the Arctic to a jungle in Asia. Images for the book are done with color pencils on paper. The book itself is printed with offset and published as a small edition of 400 copies.
