History Defended: Winston Churchill

Design Product & Packaging

Commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
My illustration was created for the new Telegraph podcast: History Defended. “Heroes or villains? Leading historians defend the great men of British history; The Telegraph's podcast host plays devil’s advocate”. To many, Winston Churchill is the man who saved the world from Nazi tyranny. But to others, Churchill represents the evils of the British Empire. So, hero or villain?

How was the illustration used:
Cover artwork for the podcast, article lead image, video thumbnail and promotional video.

How did you make this work:
The illustration was created using the Apple Pencil with Procreate on the iPad Pro. Hand drawn, incorporating images of textures, building up details with different digital brush sets.
