Why did you make this work:
Micheal Morpurgo’s timeless story ‘War Horse’ has been readapted alongside Tom Clohosy Cole’s incredible illustrations to a new generation of younger readers in this new picture book form. Creating a series of stunning, heart-breaking illustrations, Cole’s work is set to entice young readers, and reacquaint parents and grandparents to this classic story.

How was the illustration used:
The book is now available to buy online and in store, with the hopes that Tom’s stunning work will help to engage a new generation of readers to engage with this important and moving novel.

How did you make this work:
Using a combination of hand drawn and digital illustrations, a huge array of reference imagery, and inspiration from the writing itself, Tom has created nothing short of a masterpiece.

Biography:
Tom is a freelance Illustrator living and working in South London. He studied Illustration at Kingston University and graduated in 2011. His work is incredibly poetic, light filled and atmospheric.. He loves working on a range of projects from book covers, full picture books, album covers and full advertising campaigns. Each project provides a new challenge to enjoy. Alongside his illustration work he is branching into animation, as well as beginning to direct himself, he often works alongside established directors to create background artwork and character designs.
