Sol Jeong
The Woman Who Collects Self-Portraits

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
I once met this woman at an illustration fair who would collect her portraits from various artists. She said it was interesting to see how her portrait could be portrayed differently. I thought that my artistic journey had something in common with her tradition, which was finding my own colour. Also, it led to the question: does this journey really have an end?

How was the illustration used:
All the illustrations were printed into a graphic novel.

How did you make this work:
The illustrations were all created digitally. I was quite new to working digitally back then, but I wanted to challenge myself to see what colour I could find through this medium which was basically what my book is about.
