Why did you make this work:
I'm into both wine and upcycling. I painted the bottles recalling my impression on the tastes of the wine or imagining which design would go well with each bottle, and I repurposed them to be used as unique flower vases.

How was the illustration used:
This work was exhibited in Washington University in St. Louis alumni art show(Seoul, Korea) in August, 2020.

How did you make this work:
This work is a selection of spring themed wine bottle paintings, and it is painted with acrylics. I brought empty wine bottles home from restaurants and bars, and painted them.

Biography:
Young Lee is an illustrator based in Seoul, Korea. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design at Washington University in St. Louis (USA). Young is currently located back in Seoul to further continue her studies and interest in illustration. Young draws and teaches at her studio, and when she's not in her studio, you can most likely find her hanging out with her dog DongDong.
