Plant Therapy

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
I started collecting plants as a calming hobby to break an otherwise fast routine and found my design-thinking worked well for the shrubs. The care and determination used to grow plants are very similar to developing and curating a design project. Observe, learn about the subject and find the correct solution, within existent limitations, to create a noticeable difference and bring beauty to life.

How was the illustration used:
The intriguing illustrations sit alongside the professional and straightforward bits of advice on caring for indoor plants. They aim to evoke the calm and enjoyment involved in taking care of plants. The bold illustrations transform a "how-to" booklet into an entertaining coffee table publication.

How did you make this work:
All Illustrations were drawn on Adobe Draw, Illustrator and laid out in InDesign. The book was printed with IndigoHp. The and bottom white sections are printed in CMYK on Oikos; the middle section with full-page illustrations is printed in layers using white ink and CMYK, creating lush contrasts with the dark paper. No metals, mercury, chlorine, nor acid were used. We love plants and our planet.
