Jordan Robertson
Look up, Lock-down

Exploration

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
Through the circumstance of lock-downing back at my Parent’s house in a remote village, I ended up seeing the same visuals to their absolute Ground Hog limit. I enjoy looking at things intensely in order to draw from, but with lockdown being so mind-numbing at times I needed some escapism, so rather than draw the object as it was like usual- I wanted to use the object to take me somewhere else.

How was the illustration used:
The intended use of the work was purely to add to Jordan's own portfolio and to share across his own social media.

How did you make this work:
Rough pencil sketches on a newsprint pad, observing the scissors in front of me, keeping my use of the pencil quick and energetic. I then used this initial sketch as a base in photoshop, and I use my Wacom Cintiq to draw over, getting the big shapes down quickly to keep the pace of the pencil drawing which started it. I will then use a variety of photoshop brushes to create textures.
