Why did you make this work:
These illustrations were created for "Uno, Un Millón", a non-fiction children's book about animals that live their entire live almost alone and animals that must live in very big groups to survive. The publisher asked for colorful and fresh illustrations in the style of the illustrator. The book has 19 illustrations for the interior and a cover.

How was the illustration used:
The illustrations are from a picture book called "Uno, Un Millón", published in June 2020 in Spain and now co-edited in France and China.

How did you make this work:
The technique is a mix of digital and analog. I made the illustrations digitally and added ink textures made with plastics, sponges, old brushes, sticks, tooth brushes...

Biography:
Tania García is a freelance illustrator based in Barcelona, Spain. She studied Art and Design at Escola Massana, Barcelona University. She also learned applied arts such as ceramic lathe, enamels, Japanese lacquer, woodcut, engraving and interior design. Now She is a self-taught illustrator. Her specialties include lifestyle illustration, children's publishing and surface pattern design.
