Why did you make this work:
I was hired by The New Yorker to illustrate the article "What Our Contagion Fables Are Really About.” It was creative challenge.

How was the illustration used:
Printed in The New Yorker magazine, online and even as their subscription banner.

How did you make this work:
It’s a digital work. I use lots of scanned paper textures and try to simulate the paper softness.

Biography:
Karolis Strautniekas is a freelance illustrator, working and living in Vilnius, Lithuania. Having finished his studies at the Fine Arts Academy in Vilnius (2011), he began working in creative industries such as advertising, animation and graphic design. In 2013, Karolis took a focus to illustration and commenced his career as a freelance illustrator! Selected clients: Audi, Apple, Adobe, Creative Review, Facebook, Forbes Japan, IBM, La Reppublica, New York Times, Royal Mail, The Independent, Penguin Random House, Sunday Times, Siemens, V&A Museum, Vice, Variety, The Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Wired and many more.
