Why did you make this work:
When this story was shown to me, I immediately fell in love with it. I knew straight away that it was an outback story, a small rural town, possibly in the north west of Australia. I knew I was going to delve into red earth tones and blue skies and it was going to be great. I had a lot of fun experimenting with these tones, the rock and wood textures of western Australian landscapes.

How was the illustration used:
Childrens Picture Book

How did you make this work:
I took inspiration from the wilderness around Perth, where I grew up, mixed with images from the Kimberly region which the Author provided. Finding the characters was the trickiest part, but with the publisher's help and a lot of trial and error we found our little team of children for this adventure. The artwork was made with watercolours and coloured pencils.
