Why did you make this work:
This piece was created for the illustration competition 'Santiago en 100 Palabras', an annual competition in Santiago, Chile to choose the illustrators of the winning entries of a corresponding short story competition. The prompt for the competition this year was to illustrate a short story about a lonely woman who spends all her time in her apartment with her pet fish.

Biography:
Caroline Dierksheide is an illustrator and designer currently living in Santiago, Chile. Originally from Chicago, she studied communication design at Washington University in St. Louis and has since worked in graphic design and study abroad education in addition to her illustration practice.
