Why did you make this work:
The Cat Lockdown Series was developed for Wealthfront as a social media campaign during the COVID-19 lockdown. She can be seen doing several relatable indoor activities, such as binge watching nature documentaries, kneading sourdough and reading Infinite Jest. The incentive behind the project was to cheer people up during these difficult times.

How was the illustration used:
The illustrations were used exclusively on social media, as well as Wealthfront's website.

How did you make this work:
The series was created using Adobe Photoshop and a Wacom intros Pro tablet.

Biography:
Myriam Wares is a French-Canadian illustrator from Montreal. Her work is inspired by surrealism and storytelling, addressing themes related to culture, science, adventure and mythology. She has worked with numerous local and international publications, such as Nautilus, Vice, The Globe & Mail and The Walrus. Beyond publishing, she has experience in a wide range of sectors such as packaging design, animation studios and design agencies.
