Pei-Hsin Cho
Crown Shyness

Un-commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
The comic was inspired by what has happened and changed around me during the first 6 months when the Covid-19 pandemic started. The spring arrived and I felt that all trees and plants started growing and blooming more widely than ever during the time of our lockdown. The vivid vibe and the new normal of keeping the distance between us reminded me of the crown shyness phenomenon between trees.

How was the illustration used:
This comic was originally a quick note about my feeling and thoughts regarding the pandemic and the new norm. And it will be included in my self-published comic and illustration publication.

How did you make this work:
Hand-drawn on paper and coloured in Photoshop. I tried to break the traditional comic blocks and play around the narrative sequence.
