Stephanie von Reiswitz
Murder Most Puzzling

Commissioned | Professional

Why did you make this work:
I was able to propose this idea to the publishers (Chronicle Books), and happily they went for it! It is a book of 20 murder mysteries, which the reader has to solve. The puzzles range from simple 'seek and find' to number and lateral thinking puzzles. I wanted to create an immersive/interactive and highly visual book that would provide some fun escapism.

How was the illustration used:
a book

How did you make this work:
Once I'd worked out what sort of mysteries would work well with the various types of puzzles, I wrote the text, designed the layouts and finally created the images using watercolour, ink, pencil, photoshop. Each mystery is introduced by a spread featuring the text and one or more illustrations, followed by a double page image. The images presented here are five of these double page spreads.
