This work is from a self-devised graphic novel, made for my MA Illustration, 2020. These illustrations depict the growth pattern of the broad bean which, in the context of the novel, also serves as a visual metaphor for personal growth and for artistic germination.
How was the illustration used: Self-devised MA main project
How did you make this work: I make my work using traditional processes and materials (inks, pencil, paint) which are subsequently scanned, composed and edited in Photoshop.

Biography:
Madeleine Burt lives and works in Nottingham, UK. She has over 20 years' experience as a practicing artist and has an extensive exhibition history, including cities such as London, Berlin and New York. She works as a freelance illustrator/artist/writer and as a lecturer at Nottingham Trent University.
