»Things to use on an adventure trip«

Children's Publishing

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
The picture book with three-dimensional illustrated pictures was created as part of my bachelor thesis. In the story, the girl Minna undertakes an adventure trip through the apartment. She uses her imagination to change the environment around her. For example, the kitchen becomes a wild jungle with undiscovered plants, or a lamp becomes a glowing moon, where butterflies are circling.

How was the illustration used:
The illustrations for the story were created for a picture book.

How did you make this work:
The book contains 10 pictures, a total of 7 individual sets were built in miniature form and then illuminated and photographed. I mainly used recycled cardboard, wire and small wooden strips as building materials. The sets are complemented by detailed photographs of a map, a notebook and a photograph entitled »Things to use on an adventure trip«.
