Why did you make this work:
The piece illustrates two aspects of Slaughterhouse 5 and merges them together into one image: an alien race called Tramalfadorians - described as hand-shaped beings with an eye in their palm - who can see the past, present and future AND the bombing of Dresden as a central topic.

How was the illustration used:
it was used to round up of some of The New Yorker's old pieces under a theme — the respective month's being a contemporaneous reviews of classic books.

Created digitally in Photoshop.

Biography:
Max was born in rural Germany in 1989 and started out illustrating extensive album artworks for punk and metal bands after doing his homework. After graduating from the Graphic Design department at Hochschule Darmstadt in 2017, he began working as a freelancer with renowned clients like The New Yorker, The New York Times, Adidas and Google. He still enjoys creating artwork for bands.
