Why did you make this work:
Made for “Stacy’s Rise Project” by Stacy’s, a project supporting female-founded businesses along their journey. The project created limited edition bags of pita chips and limited signed prints to raise funding for female businesses. My phase to interpret was “INSPITARION”. I wanted to create an image with women dreaming freely, with an atmosphere of their inspirations running wild.

How was the illustration used:
The illustration was used for limited edition packaging for Stacey’s pita chips, with a signed print that came with each bag. Created for "Stacy's Rise Project", which raised funds for and helped female entrepreneurs. Image also used for promotional material for project.

How did you make this work:
Originally painted with ink on paper, then individual images were combined digitally. I usually paint layered images on a single sheet of paper using ink, but I painted individual layers separately specially for this project in order to create a gif animation.

Biography:
Nomoco was born in Fukuoka, Japan, and is currently based in Tokyo after 14 years of life in London. She studied at Osaka University of Arts, Japan; London College of Communication, UK; and Central Saint Martins, UK. She works primarily with ink and printmaking. She also produces work under her full name Kazuko Nomoto. She has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions in UK, Milan, Mexico, Singapore, Japan and New York. Her illustration work spans book cover, editorial, children’s book, fashions, advertising etc and has worked with clients for example Penguin books, Little Tiger, Simon & Schuster, Random House, Apple, Marc Jacobs, Moschino, Audi.Nature and sound are her inspiration. She enjoys experimenting with various materials and craft-work, and has been especially focusing on playing with ink on paper and its organic movement. For the past few years, printmaking, such as silkscreen and lithography mixed with ink drawings, have been explored in her personal works.
