ProfessionalWhy did you make this work:
The aim of the illustration was to present a cutting-edge discovery of new neuron types in the primate retina in a simple, poster-like style. By using a high-throughput single-cell sequencing, researchers generated a comprehensive cell atlas of primate retina. The illustration depicts a primate looking through a telescope visualizing the retinal cells of the eye.
How was the illustration used: The illustration was selected for the cover of a scientific magazine “Cell” (February 2019).
How did you make this work: First I made pencil sketches by hand (monkey, telescope, neurons) and then used Adobe Illustrator to create the vector image.
