Why did you make this work:
I was given an article about how DNA gathering services started to make it harder for police officers to use their data for criminal investigations. However, Florida judges started to pass warrants that would let these officers use relatives' DNA data to track a suspect.

How was the illustration used:
It is used by the New York Times on their website and the cover of the Business Section paper.

How did you make this work:
I created the illustrations using ink washes and graphite for the details. I then brought the scanned image into Photoshop to add the DNA strands.
