The City

Exploration

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
As a creative challenge, I wanted to make of what I thought about the city: a place where juxtapositions of different people coexist. The city consists of the rich and poor, the happy and sad, and the busy and the lax. Embracing individuality, I worked on retaining the chaotic nature of the city and celebrate its diversity.

How was the illustration used:
The intended use for these illustrations was to expand my portfolio and experiment with my style.

How did you make this work:
For this process, I experimented with a lot on working with digital media and trying to find a balance between very graphic and digital mark-making and imitated traditional marks. As for the process, a lot of research went on observing contemporary cities and finding similarities and trying to incorporate diversity that is not always expressed in illustrations.
