Brief Requirements: Michael Johnson contacted my agent, Katherine to see if I’d be willing and able to illustrate Bill Murray in honor of his most recent accolade; the 2016 Mark Twain prize for American Humor award.
Key Brief Ideas: Originally, I had done a sketch where Bill was on stage receiving the award underneath a slew of lights, curtains, etc. I even drew the bust multiple times. However, Michael had a more specific and simplistic vision in mind. The final idea proposed was to have a simple portrait of Bill with vague visuals of elegance accompanying the portrait.
