Why did you make this work:
I was commissioned to illustrate an article titled ‘Ways to Test Mentoring Assumptions’ The brief was based on the idea of wrong assumptions - where the inside is not what you would necessarily expect on the outside. I was not given a defined idea of how this could take shape, I was asked to supply several sketches of different concepts for this project. A 'fruit' still-life was the chosen concept

How was the illustration used:
This was used to illustrate a full page article in Talent Development Magazine.

How did you make this work:
The initial sketch was agreed by the client, it was then used as a base for the 3D work. All fruit was modelled from scratch in cinema 4d. Textures were either created from scratch or from real fruit and photo’s. The banana texture was created by scanning banana peel on my flatbed scanner! This project had minimal art direction and I was free to experiment with concepts, colour and composition.

Biography:
Lisa Sheehan, studied at Kingston University and is based in the UK, is a 2D/3D ‘image maker’ creating CGI illustrations that are often typographical with a pop of colour. Lisa loves to create fun pieces with detailed delicate forms as well as mixing 2D and 3D to create illustrations for the advertising and editorial sector. Previous clients include: The New York Times, Women’s Health, Cosmopolitan, The Financial Times, Business Life Magazine, The Washington Post, Fabulous magazine and Tesco.
