Tale Trail: An Illustrated Sightseeing Kit

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
I believe that fables provide one of the most fascinating manners to understand our own and other’s culture, therefore I decided to design a brand for tale-telling sightseeing kits. The first city where the project became real is Esztergom. I collected legends of the city, rewrote them into fables and illustrated them. The kit contains an illustrated tale book and many more interactive elements.

How was the illustration used:
A printed kit. It contains an illustrated book, a map, a poster, a book label, stickers, postcards, and some story-telling cards.

How did you make this work:
The goal of this project was to create a resource that enhances the tourists’ experience of the city and also helps locals to get closer to their hometown. This is how tales make now more memorable to visit the basilica with a story about mysterious architect murders, or the palace with a legend of magical healing stone heads. The project is easily applicable to any city or town.
