Commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
A commissioned series of information based visual informatics for English Woodland Timber's website. The company wanted to illustrate to customers the processes, skills and people employed to bring beautiful pieces of wood to the point of sale. In setting the brief the company also wanted to encapsulate its’ values and in so doing engender a unique online representation of itself.

How was the illustration used:
1. On the homepage of their website 2. Prints displayed in their offices 3. Branding at Event Sponsorship

How did you make this work:
English Woodlands Timber had wanted some alternative branding for their website and having approached them, we agreed that my illustrations could offer them this. Having been walked through the processes of the timber board production, I created some thumbnails condensing their processes into six image based visual informatics depicting a narrative format to engage their audience.

Biography:
I grew up and live in rural West Sussex. I'm 23 years old, recently graduated from Falmouth University. Living in the beautiful environment of the South Downs National Park has influenced my aesthetic and themes in my work. I have developed a strong interest in narrative based illustration. I'm currently working on a graphic novel inspired by a friendship my great-grandfather had with the artist Giorgio De Chirico.
