Momoko Abe
Frog & Toad

Un-commissioned | New Talent

Why did you make this work:
This series of illustrations are created as a self-initiated project. The objective was to re-imagine and re-illustrate selected stories from the children's book classic Frog And Toad series by Arnold Lobel with contemporary audience in mind.

How was the illustration used:
Unpublished

How did you make this work:
Illustrations are digitally coloured following initial pencil drawings. The artwork was inspired by the autobiographical message underlaying the Frog and Toad's platonic relationship. Intimate as well as light-hearted scenes were chosen to highlight the celebration of love and friendship while giving fresh look to the books originally written and illustrated in the 1970s.
