Why did you make this work:
The brief for this project was to make something positive out of a period of intense anxiety. I set myself the task of channeling the intensity of negative feelings by turning them into decorative illustrations; ones that could look pleasing and give people joy, while still conveying their darker origin.

How was the illustration used:
Published on the Makerie Studio website and social media sites as a presonal project.

How did you make this work:
Physically making something by using a negative state of mind proactively was incredibly therapeutic, and an effective way of feeling less helpless. I made each piece by hand using cut and layered iridescent gold and black paper, to keep the colour scheme in line with the project's concept. The illustrations are edited to be simple but decorative, in order to convey the concept clearly.
