World Illustration Awards (WIA) artwork has been going up in the Terrace Rooms gallery in Somerset House. These beautiful rooms will host the AOI exhibition up to 1 November 2015.
Entrants to the WIA competition were eviewed by a jury of distinguished and international industry professionals. The competition shortlist reflects exceptional work by illustrators currently making an outstanding contribution to visual culture across the world.
Awards Manager, Sabine Reimer, who curated the show, oversaw the hanging and installation of the WIA artwork, ready for opening on 5 October.
Alongside the artwork, digital displays (of app artwork) and copies of books in the the WIA shortlist are some fantastic 3D artworks, including a paper skull and celebrity eggs!
For nearly four decades, the AOI has presented the most comprehensive and significant awards for illustration in the UK. This year we welcome an international partner, the Directory of Illustration, for the World Illustration Awards.
The WIA exhibition will tour following the Somerset House show. Last year over 40,000 people saw the exhibition over the UK. More details here.
