Carolyn Gowdy at Edinburgh

AOI Patron Carolyn Gowdy has designed the set for the Edinburgh Festival production of ‘The State We’re In’ by Zia Trench. The show runs until 31 August.

The play is a part fictional portrait of world peace and civil liberties campaigner, Brian Haw, who camped on London’s Parliament Square for eight years. Carolyn researched his current display and was reminded of a medieval triptych, and she aimed to capture the soulful essence, courage and conviction in her own interpretation.
